In 2016, the hacker community "Anonymous India" claimed that Reliance Jio was sharing user call details and location data with foreign ad servers in China.
The Claim
Anonymous India provided logs suggesting that the MyJio app was sending unencrypted data to third-party servers.
The Response
Reliance Jio officially denied the allegations, stating: "Jio takes its customers’ security and privacy very seriously. In keeping with its highest standards of governance, Jio does not share its customers’ data with any other entity."
